Hello Everybody.
Random thoughts –

Was at the Food Lion this morning; the gentleman in front of me at the checkout line had two cases of Aquafina water, the 32-bottle version, and was holding one in each arm. After he checked out, I said, “Hey man, you can use my cart.” I had a gallon of milk, a variety bag of potato chips and a pack of bacon. The man said, “That’s OK, my car is just in the middle of the parking lot.” I felt one hundred years old.

Who is NFL Today commentator James Brown trying to fool with that hair-that-starts-in-the-middle-of-his-head-and is-painted-black thang? I have to say that I don’t know if Brown has health issues, or just likes the style. And I’m extremely jealous of 50-plus aged men with shiny black hair. Brown has lost 74 pounds on a strict adherence to calories-themed diet, which is commendable. I decided to test the waters and shaved my head down to the root with my clippers. No gray on top anymore, and you don’t know where the bald spot is. John Travolta recently received raves for getting rid of those Burt Reynolds (RIP) styled rugs and has a chrome dome. You still have to manage your head with conditioners that keeps your head looking shiny and healthy, and I feel the shaved head is easier than spraying/dying your head with colors that don’t match your mustache/beard, or coloring everything and looking like a mime. And the ladies like it (always a barometer of success). Join us, Mr. Brown.

Dawn is living on her own, and is running into issues that most people who are first time apartment renters face – bills higher than expected, feeling queasy from eating ramen noodles four nights in a row, telling guests to turn off the bathroom light when they exit and use the paper cups and plates. Dawn says her friends at times do not understand that after she has worked an eight hour shift and has twelve hours or less before she has to get out of bed to start another work day, that she is in no mood to party on the weeknight. Some things you gotta experience to gain knowledge in. There will be difficult days, but I think Dawn’s gonna make it.

Watching “First Time Flippers” on the DIY network with Lisa. I had Lisa watch “Bird Box” with me too…she likes “Flippers” better. The DIY show brought home the fact that when you take greater responsibility, or do something new, there’s going to be mistakes, errors in judgement, inaccurate forecasting – but knowing what NOT to do is just as important as (or leads to the end result of) being successful. Those of you who are trying new ventures and making boo-boos, it’s part of the plan.
